Bristol EPCs is run by Matthew Williams. Matthew combines a passion for saving energy and money with a realistic common sense approach.
Before starting in the energy industry. Matthew had already gained a wide range of valuable knowledge and experience to aid in the running of an energy related business. Gaining technical knowledge with a Fire and Explosions Engineering degree at Leeds university in the late 1990's. He then spent two years building up his customer relations experience working in Australia as a White Water Rafting Guide and at Barracuda Backpackers. Matthew built up a healthy working knowledge of property construction while running his own property developing business in the noughtees.
With these experiences behind him Matthew already had a good working knowledge of property construction; the thermal properties of materials, and customer service to help give him head start as a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
Matthew has been producing EPCs since 2007 and has produced over 3,500 domestic EPCs to date. He is qualified to produce domestic EPCs, SAP reports, Predicted Energy Assessments, OnConstruction EPCs, Non-domestic EPCs and Display Energy Certificates.
Matthew also has experience producing bespoke energy efficiency reports for Large Businesses, SMEs, Community groups, Local Authorities, Sports Stadiums and Shopping Centres.
Matthew worked for 2 years as a quality assurance auditor for domestic EPCs and completed audits on the work of other domestic assessors for Quidos accreditation scheme (2015-2017).

Since early 2010 Matthew has been working with Severn Wye Energy Agency a not for profit energy education charity. Helping homes, businesses, community buildings and schools in Gloucestershire and Wales to reduce their energy consumption. Matthew is the Senior Business Energy Advisor at Severn Wye and leads a team of 5 Business Energy Advisors. A very rewarding role with some clients achieving savings of more than 40%.
Current Projects of Interest:
Worcestershire Target 2020: An EU funded project aimed at helping 200 businesses reduce energy costs through FREE energy surveys and Grants of up to £8,000 toward energy efficiency installations.
Gloucestershire Target 2020: An EU funded project aimed at helping 300 businesses reduce energy costs through FREE energy surveys and Grants of up to £50,000 toward energy efficiency installations.
